- Rated 5 out of 5by Shaitan Venit, 6 days agoAmazing extension, this is going to help me a lot to learn Japanese. One feature I wish it had is to display furigana over kanji when on hover. That aside, I'm glad I found this extension. Good job!

posted a month agoHi hhoganmc, I'm sorry to hear it's not working for you. Would you be able to contact me at info@birchill.co.jp so we can try to work out what's wrong?
You'll need to activate the add-on after pinning it to the toolbar or pressing Alt+R. I hope that helps!- Rated 5 out of 5by Boris Chiou, 2 months agoThis is very easy to use. The Japanese accent is really useful when I look up the new words and try to speak them.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14009125, 7 months agothe bundled font change is jarring, I'd much rather use a font that is consistent with my system. The "a" used to have a hat (not round) and the characters used to have smaller proportions, for example.
That aside... it's quite good at recognizing words.Developer response
posted 7 months agoThank you! That's very good feedback. I've filed an issue at https://github.com/birchill/10ten-ja-reader/issues/1799 and will see what other users think of the change.
At very least, we can restore the hat on the "a" very easily and we could add an option to use a system font too.
Update: We've just released a new version (1.19.1) which adds a setting to use system fonts. Thanks for the feedback! - Rated 5 out of 5by willow, 8 months agoIncredibly useful for immersion reading and it's even really decent for reading things in chinese! the wanikani/bunpro features are a nice touch too

posted 10 months agoOh, I'm so sorry to hear it's not updating for you. Can I ask which region you are in? It should work but perhaps you are encountering DNS / Firewall / Proxy issues? Please feel free to contact me on info@birchill.co.jp. I would love to help fix this problem. Sorry for the trouble! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18268293, a year agoVery nice extension that helps me a lot with my Japanese learning! But I've met a problem that sometimes when I look up a word, there are so many homonym words that I cannot find the word I want in the list, which just leaves the ellipsis "..." at the bottom. How can I expand it for more results? Take the conjunction「し」 as an example. I could only get all irrelevant words 「死」「四」「市」etc. except that very conjunction word. I'd like to know how to solve this troublesome problem.
Also, I wonder whether more language versions like Chinese/Korean will be added into 10ten reader, for my mother tongue is not any European language and sometimes it is difficult for me to understand some obscure English definitions LoL.
Thank you for reading my comment.Developer response
posted 10 months agoHi! Sorry, I didn't see your comment there. Thanks for reporting the problem with 「し」. I'm sorry it's causing you trouble. I've filed an issue (https://github.com/birchill/10ten-ja-reader/issues/1657) to look into fixing this. Thanks and sorry again for the trouble.
I hope to add Vietnamese definitions at some point. If you know of any sources that match Chinese or Korean definitions to the JMdict dictionary entries I would love to add them. Thank you! - Rated 5 out of 5by isyasad, a year ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18181672, a year agoI've noticed recently that when I click the icon, it doesn't turn on. I have to click it twice. Why is that? Is it a bug? A lot of times I thought it's enabled and I hover a word to find out it's not on and have to click it again, it's a hassle really.
