About this extension
Bass Booster by SonicLab deepens the low end of any audio file you open, right inside your browser. Pick a track, dial in the boost, hear the result instantly, and save the processed audio as a WAV file.
Everything happens on your device. Your audio is never uploaded, never sent to a server, and never stored by the extension. The extension requests no browser permissions at all — it cannot see your tabs, your history, or the pages you visit.
WHAT IT DOES
• Open an audio file from your computer, or drag and drop it onto the popup. • Bass Boost — add up to +18 dB of low end using a low-shelf filter, so sub-bass rises together with the bass instead of being left behind. • Bass Frequency — choose the corner between 40 Hz and 200 Hz. Lower settings emphasise deep sub-bass and 808s; higher settings add warmth and body. • Instant preview — play the boosted audio and move the sliders while it is playing. The filters retune live, so you hear each change immediately. • Automatic clipping protection — the extension measures your file and trims the output by exactly enough to keep the boosted peaks below full scale, with a safety limiter behind it. Quiet recordings are never silently normalised. • Download WAV — export the processed audio as a 16-bit WAV file. What you download is exactly what you previewed.
SUPPORTED FILES
Your browser's own audio decoder handles the file, which in Edge and Chrome covers MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A and AAC. If a file is corrupt or in a format the browser cannot read, the extension says so clearly instead of failing silently. Files up to 100 MB are supported.
PRIVACY
No data collection of any kind. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no network requests. No permissions requested. The audio you open is released from memory as soon as you close the popup. Full policy: https://soniclab.io/extension/privacy
ABOUT SONICLAB
SonicLab is a collection of free browser-based audio tools. This extension uses the same audio-processing approach as the online Bass Booster at https://soniclab.io/tools/bass-booster, which adds mid and high balance controls, five presets, a waveform view and MP3 export.
