Sold out to avast.

🤨 The developer of this add-on, Daniel from Croatia https://www.i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu/de, has sold the add-on! To Avast(!) 🤨
Basically there is nothing against earning money with his work. But selling it to Avast?🚫 That is IMHO very suspicious!🤨
He announced this in a blog post (https://www.i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu/whats-new/acquisition/) titled "Great news".
This company had allegedly collected user data in the past without his explicit permission and resold it highly profitably.
According to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1783015 Firefox is working on supporting this natively in the Firefox browser in the future.
Mozilla developers write in bugzilla.mozilla.org and this article: https://www.soeren-hentzschel.at/firefox/firefox-sagt-cookie... In Firefox nightly you can already set different values for the cookiebanners.service.mode about:config setting in Firefox nightly.

It was a good extension, but then sold to Avast. A company infamous known for collecting data. It is not mentioned on the extension home page for whatever reason but was shown as info page on update only.

The dev has sold out to Avast, an antivirus company well known for collecting loads of user data and selling it to advertisers, among other privacy concerns. Absolutely horrific

Developer recently sold this extension to Avast, which is notorious for being spyware. Chances are they're using this to aggressively collect and sell your browsing data.

Sold to Avast

Since being taken over by Avast, Internet speed has been very poor. Disabled this add-on and back to full speed. Shady add-on. Poor decision by previous developer who obviously cared more about money than cookies.

Funktionierte immer gut. Jetzt an AVAST verkauft, einer Firma, der ich aufgrund belegter Datenverkäufe nicht mehr vertraue. Schade für die Nutzer.

Vendu à Avast... Rien contre le développeur qui gagne du fric avec, mais je n'apprécie pas qu'on puisse présenter Avast comme "entreprise digne de confiance" quand on connaît un peu le passé lourd de ces margoulins et quand on sait qu'ils sont en train d'être vendus à Norton (anciennement Symantec, qui se rappelle du gros micmac autour des certificats de sécurité bidons en 2018 ?)...

Was a great Addon until it took Avast stinky money to the knee. Sad.
