by Firefox user 12343100, 4 years agoGreat if you like control. I like knowing what is blocked and what isn't rather than just having an all-or-nothing approach like Adblock takes. If a site demands certain third-party content to work, I can enable it piecemeal. Works pretty well as an adblocker, too, except it's annoying that it doesn't block during initial loading of a webpage when restarting Firefox, so an ad-heavy site like Washington Post starts sucking up lots of CPU cycles with their tons of animated ads. I've learned to immediately reload the page when starting up Firefox so the ads get blocked.

Privacy Badger is an excellent Firefox extension that automatically blocks invisible trackers, boosting your online privacy without the need for constant fine-tuning. Developed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), it prioritizes privacy, transparency, and ethical browsing practices.
Pros:
✅ Smart blocking: Automatically learns to block trackers as you browse, adapting to new threats.
✅ No filter lists needed: Unlike traditional ad blockers, Privacy Badger detects sneaky trackers dynamically.
✅ Easy to use: Simple, intuitive interface with no complex settings required.
✅ Privacy-respecting: Open-source and built by a trusted non-profit organization.
✅ Lightweight and efficient: Doesn’t slow down your browser or hog resources.
Cons:
❌ Not a full ad blocker: While it blocks many trackers, it doesn’t specifically target ads, so some may still appear.
❌ Occasional website breakage: Like all privacy tools, it can sometimes block essential site elements, but you can easily adjust the settings.
💡 Overall, Privacy Badger is a fantastic tool for enhancing your privacy while browsing with Firefox. Its automatic, adaptive approach makes it perfect for users who want reliable protection without micromanaging filters. Highly recommended! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17944400, 8 days ago
