ReThink Privacy Policy

ReThink ("ReThink," "we," "us," or "our") is a mindful-spending browser extension that detects when you reach a real checkout or payment page and shows a brief pause reminder before you complete a purchase. This Privacy Policy explains what information ReThink collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information. If you create a ReThink account or sign in, we collect your email address and authentication credentials to identify your account and keep you signed in. Sign-in is handled through our backend provider, Supabase.

Items you choose to log. When you optionally save an item you paused on, we store the item's name, price, and store, tied to your account, so you can review your own pause history later. This only happens when you actively choose to log an item — it is never automatic.

Local extension settings. The extension stores a small amount of data locally on your device (using your browser's storage), including:

Your signed-in session, so you aren't asked to sign in on every checkout
Your theme, currency, and default-wait-day preferences, so the extension loads instantly
A short-lived "snooze" timestamp per website, so the pause prompt doesn't repeatedly reappear on the same checkout within a 30-minute window
Information We Do Not Collect

To detect a checkout page, ReThink's extension looks at page signals — the page URL, visible button text (like "Place Order" or "Pay Now"), and the presence of payment form fields — entirely on your device. It does not read, collect, or transmit the content of the pages you visit beyond what's needed to make that determination.

We do not collect or have access to:

Your browsing or web history
Payment card numbers, bank details, or other financial account information
Your keystrokes, mouse movements, scrolling, or other on-page activity
Your location
The content of your emails, messages, or other personal communications
Health information
How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to operate ReThink's core feature: recognizing checkout pages, showing you a pause reminder, keeping you signed in, applying your preferences, and letting you optionally review items you've previously paused on. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties, other than the service providers who help us operate ReThink:

Supabase, which provides our authentication and database infrastructure.

We do not share your information for any purpose unrelated to providing ReThink's core functionality.

Data Retention and Your Choices

You can sign out of ReThink at any time, which clears your local session. You can ask us to delete your account and the data associated with it (including any items you've logged) by contacting us at the email address below.

Children's Privacy

ReThink is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
