About this extension
Custom CSS Cursor gives Firefox consistent, clear pointer resources for CSS cursors that do not have a fixed Windows pointer-scheme entry. It reads the element’s final computed cursor style under the pointer and replaces enabled types with built-in or user-selected resources. Changes are detected automatically even when the pointer stays still.

🧩 Settings let you control takeover by cursor type and website.
  • Mappings: enable or disable vertical-text, cell, grab, grabbing, alias, copy, col-resize, row-resize, zoom-in, and zoom-out independently
  • Cursor resources: choose a CUR, PNG, or SVG file for each mapping and restore the built-in resource at any time
  • Scope: choose whether to override url(...) cursor images supplied by pages; support exact domains, wildcard rules such as *.example.com, and file:// exclusions, with a quick current-site switch in the popup

✨ Extension features:
  • Computed-style replacement: detects the CSS cursor that finally applies to the element instead of relying on fixed tags or frameworks
  • Live updates while still: tracks hit testing, DOM, classes, inline styles, CSSOM, scrolling, and layout, so switching from style A to style B needs no mouse movement
  • Complex-page support: checks cursors in permitted embedded frames and open Shadow DOM trees
  • Layered built-ins: provides SVG, PNG, and CUR fallbacks for Firefox for clarity and compatibility
  • Respects page cursors: keeps a page’s own url(...) cursor image by default, with an option to override it
  • Clean restoration: restores the original inline declaration when the pointer leaves, the extension is disabled, or the site is excluded
  • Quick controls: disable the extension globally or allow/exclude the current site from the popup
  • Multilingual UI: follows the browser language automatically or offers 14 languages and regional variants: Deutsch, English, Español, Français, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Português (Brasil/Portugal), Русский, Tiếng Việt, 简体中文, and 繁體中文 (Hong Kong/Taiwan)
  • Local and private: all checks and settings run in the browser; no user data is collected or transmitted

Firefox permission limits prevent extensions from changing the browser chrome, most about: pages, protected sites such as Mozilla Add-ons, operating-system menus, or virtual pointers drawn by applications.
