Basic Auth Remember by kpfecteau
Signs in to HTTP Basic auth sites (staging servers, dev boxes) for you, so the browser's login dialog never appears. Logins are saved per host pattern and encrypted under a passphrase you unlock once per session.

About this extension
Firefox's password manager can save HTTP Basic auth logins, but it only fills in the dialog: you still have to confirm it every session. Basic Auth Remember answers the login prompt for you.
How it works
Privacy and security
Private windows: allow "Run in Private Windows" for the extension in about:addons to use it there.
How it works
- Save a login for a host from the toolbar popup, or manage them all on the options page.
- Hosts can be exact (
staging.example.com,localhost:8080), wildcards (*.example.com), or regular expressions (/^review-\d+\.example\.com$/). - When a site asks for a login and a saved one matches, it's sent automatically. If the site rejects it, Firefox's normal dialog appears instead; there's no retry loop.
- The toolbar icon shows ✓ when a login was sent and ✗ when it was rejected.
Privacy and security
- Logins are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your passphrase (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 iterations). Only the encrypted copy is stored. You unlock once per Firefox session.
- Nothing is sent anywhere except the login itself, to the site that asked for it. No analytics, no remote code, no network requests of its own.
- Firefox won't offer to save these site passwords in its own password manager.
