1. Overview

The 7 WebLY Sins ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that provides gentle reminders about browsing habits based on the framework of the seven deadly sins. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Data We Collect

None. The 7 WebLY Sins does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. We have no servers, no databases, no analytics, and no tracking.

The only external service used is ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) for processing optional premium payments. ExtensionPay handles payment processing through Stripe — we never see or store your payment details. 3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The Extension uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local API to store the following data locally on your device only:

Settings & preferences: Which sins are enabled, warning frequency, custom emojis, theme choices
Time tracking data (Premium): Aggregated time spent per category per day (e.g., "Greed: 15 minutes"). No specific URLs or page titles are stored.
Virtue tokens (Premium): Token count and a log of which category earned each token
Premium status: Whether you have activated Premium, synced via ExtensionPay
Whitelist (Premium): Domains you've chosen to exempt from warnings


This data never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to us or any third party.
4. Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

"storage": Used to save your settings and tracking data locally on your device.
"tabs": Used to detect which website you're currently viewing so the Extension can show relevant sin or virtue messages. The URL is checked against a list of known patterns (e.g., "amazon" → Greed). URLs are never stored, logged, or transmitted.


The Extension also declares a host permission for https://extensionpay.com/*. This is used solely to communicate with ExtensionPay's service to verify your premium payment status. No browsing data is sent to this service — only a payment status check.
5. Content Scripts

The Extension injects a content script on web pages to display banner messages. This script:

Reads the current page URL to match against known site patterns
Scans a small portion of page text to detect shopping/streaming keywords
Displays a banner with a relevant message
Does not modify any page content beyond adding the banner
Does not read passwords, form data, or personal information
Does not inject ads or tracking scripts


1. Third-Party Services

The Extension uses the following third-party services:

ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com): Used to process optional Premium payments. ExtensionPay uses Stripe for secure payment processing. We never see or store your credit card or payment details. ExtensionPay only communicates your payment status (paid or not paid) to the Extension.


The Extension does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The optional "Share on Facebook" feature (Premium) simply opens a Facebook share dialog with pre-filled text — no data is sent to Facebook by the Extension itself.
7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share any user data with anyone. There is no data to share because we don't collect any.
8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is safe for users of all ages. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The content is family-friendly and educational.
9. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Uninstalling the Extension automatically deletes all stored data
You can clear Extension data at any time through Chrome's settings (chrome://extensions → 7 WebLY Sins → Details → Clear data)
