by schnappi, 4 years agoVersion 0.31 not working with Firefox 84.0 on Linux.
After previously posting a review regarding another issue developer promptly responded with new version (0.2), which fixed issue, but then the proxy would defaults to "on" after every browser restart, even if proxy is off at time of restart. The developer also promptly fixed this after being notified.

response: yes, sure, I know. I was using the Addon “Socks Proxy” so far, but since today it is not working correctly anymore. I tested your proxy switcher. Unfortunately, it allows only a predefined port (I was using 8080, now I had to switch to 1080). Not really a problem. But it would be nice to set the ports also in your addon. But Clicking on your switch-button did not enable the proxy. I found then a note that it would only work in private mode. This was then already the dead for the addon. I need it in all firefox windows. Nevertheless, I was interested whether it works in private window, but there the button was even not present! I failed to find it. In the regular firefox window it was present. Thus, the idea is great and actually exactly what I need, but unfortunately, it is still in a very early stage of development and not well tested.
BTW, I found an addon that works: "Proxy Toggle".Developer response
posted 5 years agoresponse: sorry, I meant something different, the proxy works in normal mode but you need to enable it to work also in private mode to make it work at all. I updated the description to make it more clear, in any case what you need to do is to set 'Run in Private Windows' to 'Allow' in the Option page (right click on the extension button and choose 'Manage Extension').
