by bodwyn, 7 years agoI tried telly Adaware directly via their feedback page (https://www.adaware.com/give-feedback), but when I hit submit, it says "404 Not Found - nginx".
So, here for all to see is my feedback - you asked for it!
With no warning or explanation, my New Tab was now a picture of a lake and set to use bing.
WTF! Someone has messed with my stuff! Was it bing?
I figured out it AdAware and found nothing in its settings.
I finally found out AdAware is actually 3 extensions, and I disabled safe search, as it doesn't seem to have settings to tweak how it messes with your expected functionality.
Note to the programmers. If someone is nice enough to let you into their house, don't start moving things, changing things, especially with little to no indication of what, why and by whom!
So rude!
I know you think it's obvious functionality, but my FireFox didn't used to work like this.
Either ask first or explain, don't just revamp my kitchen and think I'll be down with that as beneficial as you think it might be.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14204248, 5 years agoI've had it for a few years and it seems to work. When I disabled and removed it a few minutes ago (because of below problem) something freaky happened to my computer as if it had been suddenly corrupted. So I want it back!
A recent silent update made the icon twice the side of my toolbar and I don't know how to get it normal sized.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Barbara, 5 years agoOld Adaware will not work, most likely because I finally upgraded to Win10. When I try to download another version for Firefox I get a message that the file seems corrupted, so it won't download and install. What goes with that, anyhow?

- Rated 1 out of 5by Raymond Hill, 6 years agoIt's quite an old version of uBlock Origin with removed features, reskinned, and opt-in telemetry added to it.
It violates the GPLv3 license of uBlock Origin: the copyright and license notices have been removed from many of the source files, and the modified source code is nowhere to be found. - Rated 5 out of 5by Anderson, 6 years ago
