posted 10 months agoHi,
Thank you for your review.
Although we have now introduced a Premium version, our free standard version should block ads just as well as the Premium. The upgrade only offers more customization and additional features, but the ad blocking remains completely free.
You can read more about our Premium version here: https://help.adblockplus.org/hc/en-us/articles/7981157227667-All-about-Adblock-Plus-Premium

How about I leave you behind? Automatically launching new tabs (when trying to make a new tab yourself) that advertise "features" like this, especially features that are ALREADY FREE (just look up the "I don't care about cookies" Adblock filter list), is highly intrusive and is therefore against what you originally stood for concerning blocking intrusive ads.
Stop selling your soul for money. If you need money this bad, just sell this plugin to someone else, because you are clearly not responsible enough to keep up its reputation.Developer response
posted 10 months agoHi,
Thank you for your review and feedback.
You are welcome to use the free filter list, which is why we offer it for users who prefer not to upgrade to Premium. However, this list is not mantained by us.
Our Premium cookie filter list is proprietary so we are able to make constant improvements to it. For our free filter list where we rely on a volunteer filter list author to keep it updated. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14734534, a year agojust download uBlock.
Adblock forces companies to pay them for the "acceptable ads".
They are not your friend, they just use you.Developer response
posted 10 months agoHi,
I am not sure what you mean by "forces companies to pay for Acceptable Ads."
In this program, websites indeed are permited to show certain ads on the page. However, those ads have to be produced according to a series of criterias (ie. not animated, non-intrusive, cannot block content, etc). Websites have to apply join the program and are judged by a committee. This ensures that all pages follow the criteria established.
User can choose to opt-out from seeing Acceptable Ads at any time in their ABP settings. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15792048, a year agoNo clear directions to install this Adblock Plus

posted a year agoHello,
YouTube's anti-adblock wall should no longer appear with the ABP desktop extension installed in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. You may see a variety of different behaviors such as a temporary black screen or a very brief display of an ad. These are related to our efforts to stop ads from appearing for you.
If you are still seeing the anti-adblock notification, make sure there isn't a different extension or other software triggering the notification to appear. If something else is not triggering the wall, we recommend the following steps in this order:
1 - Sign out of YouTube.
2 - Clear your browser's cache:.
3 - Sign back into YouTube.
If you continue to see the wall after trying those steps, please contact us at support@adblockplus.org. We will be happy to look into it! - Rated 5 out of 5by enricoX2, a year ago

posted a year agoHi,
Some websites have an anti ad blocking wall in place, which requires users to disable their ad blockers to access the page.
Websites are in their right to request this, though we believe it is an extremely intrusive practice. We cannot legally stop it but we are constantly exploring legal ways to combat this. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17824334, a year ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by MartyVanB, a year agoAs it does block some ads, it's not total garbage -- hence the second star -- but there are far, far better options that you should avail yourself of.
If you insist on using this, do please look at all the options to better understand that this is a service looking to upsell you to premium and purposefully allows certain ads to pass through its filter. Frankly, you shouldn't trust them.Developer response
posted a year agoHi,
We are sorry to hear your experience with ABP has not been positive.
I believe you are referring to our Acceptable Ads program when saying that ABP "purposefully allows certain ads to pass through its filter." This program means that websites are permited to show certain ads on the page. However, those ads have to follow a series of criterias that are judged by a commitee (ie. not animated, non-intrusive, cannot block content, etc). Users can easily opt-out of seeing Acceptable Ads on their ABP settings page.
