About this extension

AI Chat Exporter saves your Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini conversations as a clean document you can keep, share or hand to another AI, in one click.

A small button appears on the chat page. Click it and choose:

PDF: the whole chat in order, each turn labelled "User" or the AI, with images embedded
Word (.docx): the same content, editable
ZIP: the Word chat plus every image and file from the conversation, saved under the same names the chat mentions
Markdown (.md): plain text that AI tools read well

What it keeps

Every message in order, with headings, lists, tables and code
Images you uploaded and images the AI generated
Text files you attached, and text you pasted (shown as "Pasted:")
Files the AI created, when the site allows downloading them
Anything that can't be saved is clearly marked, for example [UPLOAD report.pdf], so you know what to add yourself

Options (menu > Options)

Export everything, only the last N messages, or from a message number onward
Export only messages between two dates (Claude and ChatGPT)
Hide tool-call lines, or keep only each answer's final text
Shorten very long pasted text
A summary after each export shows what was saved and what still needs adding
A dark, light or match-the-site panel that uses each site's own font

Privacy

Everything happens in your browser. The extension does not collect, store or send your chats anywhere, has no analytics and loads no remote code. It reads your conversation from the site you are on, using your own logged-in session, and builds the files on your computer.

Good to know

Works on claude.ai, chatgpt.com and gemini.google.com.
Gemini does not show message dates, so the date range is ignored there.
Claude does not allow downloading the original PDF/Word files you uploaded; they appear as [UPLOAD ...] markers.
Websites change often. If something stops working, an update will fix it.
