About this extension

This extension will surround YouTube™ videos with ambient light inside your browser. No need for extra hardware like lightstrips or smart lights like ambilight, it's all in your browser!

Tip:

Are you using a widescreen or portrait monitor? Enable both the "Remove black bars" and "Fill video to screen" features to automatically fill your monitor with any video that has black bars.

Requirement:

A video card with a score of at least 1000 points in the PassMark G3D Mark benchmark is recommended.

With a score lower than 1000 the extension will still work but it is likely that the YouTube video page will be slow and/or stuttering.

Release notes for 2.38.10

New
- Support for /live/<videoid> urls

Fixes
- Fix the endless loading state that displays an "Ambient light loading is paused" message (Which was caused by a recent YouTube update)
- Fixed the undefined error that sometimes happend when the "WebGL renderer" setting is disabled
- Removing bars and "Fill video to screen" did not work on 4:3 videos where YouTube already zoomed in the video

Improvements
- Refactored expensive css selectors
- Improved bar detection reliability

Changes
- The setting "Video artifacts workaround" is now disabled by default. Because those artifacts have now been fixed by Microsoft in Windows 10 & 11.
- The setting "Video jitter workaround" is now enabled by default. Because this is still an problem on monitors with an higher refresh rate than 60Hz.
