Welcome to arXivite. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect

When you use arXivite, we collect:

Basic profile information provided by Google or GitHub OAuth (such as email, name, and profile picture, depending on provider and account settings)
Usage data (search queries, bookmarked papers)
Technical data (browser type, device information)


1. Browser Extension

When you use the arXivite browser extension:

The extension reads the current tab URL only after you open its popup. It uses an arXiv abstract or PDF URL to identify the paper; it does not send your general browsing history or other tab URLs.
It requests the selected paper's public bibliographic data from arXiv, including its title, authors, abstract, identifier, categories, dates, and available journal or comment details.
When you choose to save the paper, the extension sends that paper data and your Arxivite access token over HTTPS to the Arxivite bookmark service. The service validates the token with Supabase Auth, identifies your account from the validated session, checks for an existing bookmark, and stores the paper in your Arxivite library.
The extension keeps its separate sign-in session in your browser's extension storage. You can disconnect the extension from its popup to remove that session.
The extension does not send page text from non-arXiv sites, keystrokes, or general browsing history as part of its save flow.
