- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18455060, 9 months agoWhen it works right it is actually decent. However for the past 6 months it keeps on giving me an API token error even though I have a token (something I shouldn't need to do as AHA on Chrome doesnt need this or a payment plan). It is currently up to date with 3.1.6 but they clearly did not fix this issue like they said they would in response to a separate review. When I revoke the token and get a new one it starts asking for a payment plan. The only way to use this extension is to use temporary emails to get a new API token.

posted 6 months agoHi there,
We apologize for causing confusion. The extension does not require API tokens or signing up to work. The API token field is for people with active API subscription. Please remove an API token from the settings to freely use the extension.
We also sincerely ask that you don’t sign up for multiple API accounts. It is unnecessary (the extension works without a token!), creates a significant financial burden on our side (we have to pay to Auth0 for users), and violates our terms of service.
We will make it clearer in an update. - Rated 1 out of 5by Luneriane, 10 months agoI tried it on multiple songs, but none of them were right. It recognized the same music whereas the songs were different (similar style but still quite different).

posted a year agoOur extension is free and generally doesn't require any paid subscriptions.- Rated 1 out of 5by Tomi, a year agoIt simply hasn't recognized anything for me yet. Seems to be absolutely useless to me.

posted a year agoOops! We've accidentally introduced an auth bug in version 3.1.5. This version is now disabled and we advice updating to 3.1.6. Our apologies!- Rated 1 out of 5by Altvish, a year ago

posted a year agoCan you please share more info? What is your browser and OS version and what was the website? The extension works on, e.g., YouTube, just fine for us- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13902717, a year agoJust like Shazam and SoundHound, if it's not a popular song, nothing comes up.

posted a year agoSorry, in our DB, we only have songs available to us through our partners in the music industry. Unfortunately, many tracks are not officially published and thus we can't identify them :( - Rated 1 out of 5by Erufen, a year agoEvery single song I've tried, has returned with an absolutely wrong result not even CLOSE to resembling my sample. I wanted to know the name of a gregorian chant, and I was served with some garbage "narcocorrido". Racist much? geolocation shouldn't even be a thing right?
Developer response
posted a year agoApologies our extension couldn't help! Our service does not use any sort of geo-location to identify music. Unfortunately, music different from what's published on streaming services can produce false positive results. If you can share the link to a falsely identified song with us (firefox@audd.io), we'd appreciate it!
Again, really sorry about your experience! - Rated 1 out of 5by Derk "Dirk" Derkinson, a year agoDefault account limit exceeded for today. Check options page

posted 2 years agoThe extension shouldn't ask for money. Can you provide us with more details of what exactly you experienced? - Rated 1 out of 5by SJoe, 2 years agoEDIT / UPDATE: Hi, thank you for your answer! :) My Firefox version is always up-to-date (118.0.1) OS: Windows 10 22h2 (19045.3516). I use an external TB sound card: Focusrite Clarett 4Pre.

I wanna try your extension with this podcast : https://www.radiofrance.fr/franceculture/podcasts/serie-howard-becker-sociologue-en-marges (or any other podcasts from the same site) but each time I click on the AudD icon, the playing stops completely. The reading looks paused (...or frozen ?).
Whatever the order of actions (for example, click on the extension icon first, then hit "play" on the website, or vice-versa), it seems impossible to, at the same time, play the podcast AND have the extension activated.
I authorized all cookies in the extension's settings, and my adblock is deactivated.
Almost forgot, other example : I wanna use your extension with a musical tv steaming site (you can't access this site, but it's a very common tv channel's site like many others), here your extension seems to work... but recognize absolutely nothing. I tested it with many french video clips of several genres, not a single result.
So finally, for me, the real use cases for this extension are very limited. How do you explain these bugs?Developer response
posted a year agoThanks for adding the info on the browser/OS/sound card. As it works for us on the website, it's likely an issue with Firefox somehow not capturing audio it's sending to the sound card. Can you please try to disconnect the external sound card and then use the extension? If it works, please let us know, we'll then try to figure out what exactly Firefox does with the sound card and how to fix it and capture audio. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18007978, 2 years ago
