About this extension
An extension that fully implements the Do Not Track Consent API and blocks tracking unless consent has been given.
Bouncer is a Firefox extension that enforces Do Not Track by completely implementing the W3C Do Not Track (DNT) recommendation. Servers can use the DNT Consent API to ask for your permission before using persistent cookies or other techniques to collect your activity across the web. If you do not give your explicit consent servers should not do this, and Bouncer will stop them if they try. Sites can ask you for your consent, or specific embedded third-parties on their site, to track you then use the DNT Consent API to tell Bouncer. Embedded third-parties are only given "site-specific" consent, and Bouncer can be configured to confirm with you before it registers the consent.
Bouncer not only sets the Do Not Track (DNT) signal, it also enforces your preference. If DNT is set persistent cookies will only be allowed to remain in your browser or device for a maximum of 2 hours.
Bouncer also reports on how servers respond to the DNT signal and gives you the ability to completely block content that you feel is ignoring your preference.
It is intended that this will be a complete implementation of the API described in the Tracking Preference Expression document http://www.w3.org/TR/tracking-dnt/ specified by the W3C's Tracking Protection Working Group.
