" Adds a button to toggle links. This is to make it easy to copy plain text." – if this does what I think it does: It's already possible to copy links as text when holding the Alt key while selecting, at least in Firefox.

About that feature, sure, if you just want to copy a word or two, you could use alt+select. But that feature is for copying a whole paragraph or a larger portion. If you just copy normally, it will be littered with footnote numberings like [1], [2], and if you paste it into a word processor, it will have blue underlines all over the text, and you would have to remove them manually.
