This Privacy Notice describes how BetterUp, Inc. (“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information collected from users of the Firefox browser to access our website (“Users”) and have downloaded the Betterup Diagnostic Extension (the “Extension”). Please note that this Privacy Notice does not apply to your use of third-party sites, services, websites visited, or use of the Firefox browser. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those third parties for more information regarding their privacy practices.
The purpose of the Extension is to ping a pre-determined set of BetterUp core domains and resource domains to report on which are/are not accessible from within a User’s network firewall. This information allows BetterUp to ensure a smooth deployment experience for its Users by requesting critical domains be whitelisted.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy. In some cases, such as a material change in our practices, we may provide you with additional notice, such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you an email notification. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our information practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy.
COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Extension
When you use the Extension, we automatically collect information about you, including the following:
- Log Information: We log information about your use of the Extension, including the version or type of browser you use and access times.
- When the User runs the diagnostic scan the Extension will log the results of the websites that were pinged during the scan.
USE OF INFORMATION
We will use the information we collect via the Extension to provide, maintain, and improve the Extension.
The information we collect from Users may be used to:
- Monitor and analyze usage and activities in connection with the Extension;
SHARING OF INFORMATION
When you download the Extension, we will share aggregated and de-identified diagnostic information, which cannot be reasonably used to identify you, with a third party to help us analyze the results in order to improve the experience for Users on core domains.
DATA RETENTION
We store the info we collected about you for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which we originally collected it, or for other legitimate business purposes, including to meet our legal, regulatory, or other compliance obligations.
YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
A business subject to California Civil Code section 1798.83, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) is required to disclose to its California customers, upon request, the identity of any third parties to whom the business has disclosed personal information within the previous calendar year, along with the type of personal information disclosed, for the third parties' direct marketing purposes. Please note that under the CCPA, businesses are only required to respond to a customer request once during any calendar year.
