About this extension
Bias shows you the political lean of the journalist writing the article you're reading. When you visit a news article on a supported NZ news site, Bias detects the journalist's byline and displays a card showing their coverage distribution across the political spectrum, scored across hundreds of past articles. It also shows documented personal and professional connections to political figures, with public sources for every claim. Every score is based on AI analysis of the journalist's full body of work — not a single article. Supported sites: NZ Herald, Stuff, RNZ, 1News, Newsroom, The Spinoff, Interest.co.nz, Newstalk ZB. Privacy: Bias collects zero user data. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. Fully open source.
