About this extension

BIDI - Forge fixes the reading order of mixed right-to-left (Persian, Arabic, Hebrew) and left-to-right text in AI chat interfaces, where a single English word, a number, a bullet or an inline code span is enough to flip a whole sentence the wrong way.

It resolves a base direction for each block of a reply — ignoring runs that are technical rather than linguistic, such as inline code, code blocks, URLs, digits and emoji — so a Persian line that opens with useState or 1. stays right-to-left instead of anchoring on its first character.

What it fixes

Sentences that start with code, a number, a bullet or an English term
Bullets and list numbers landing on the wrong side, with the wrong indentation
Items in the same list disagreeing with each other
Punctuation, quotes and brackets jumping to the wrong end of a sentence
Persian comments inside code blocks, while the code itself stays left-to-right
The message box, where each line you type follows its own language

How it works

Rendered replies are never rewritten. The add-on only sets direction attributes and applies a stylesheet, so inline code and links stay intact, copying an answer gives you clean text with no invisible characters, and switching the add-on off restores the page exactly.

Privacy

No network requests, no analytics, no remote code. The only thing stored is your own settings. Everything happens locally in your browser.

Works on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, Perplexity, DeepSeek and Qwen, or on every site if you choose.
