Bighorn Sheep - Borrego - California Desert
One of my rare successful photo shots was of this Bighorn Sheep male while hiking in Anza-Borrego desert Palm Canyon East of San Diego, California. They are hard to see as they blend into their surroundings. On that day, there were 8 of them slowly moving across the trail. The male had no fear and posed for me; in reality placing himself between me and his ewes. I took the shot and ran from the scary horns. They are heavily hunted by local mountain cougars.
