About this extension
Branchkeeper is a tab and session manager for Firefox that gives you quick access
to tabs across all your windows. Search tabs, organize native tab groups, save
and restore sessions, and keep local JSON backups in a compact tree.
Feature highlights
- dedicated compact manager window and optional sidebar;
- persistent live, Saved, and Trash sections;
- global search shortcut and keyboard result navigation;
- save-before-close for tabs and complete windows, plus complete-window
restoration;
- window renaming, collapse state, pinned tabs, and container name/color badges;
- native tab-group display, movement, and restoration with saved title, color,
membership, and collapsed state;
- rolling local safety snapshots;
- additive JSON export/import with independent Open, Saved, and Trash choices
and exact preview counts;
- confirmed Empty Trash and immediate Undo;
- local-only storage with no analytics or external transmission.
See every open window and tab in one collapsible tree. Press
with the arrow keys, and activate the tab you need without remembering which
window it was in.
Tabs and complete live windows closed through Branchkeeper are saved before
Firefox closes them. Reopen one tab or a complete saved window later. Rename
windows, preserve pinned tabs, see and filter Firefox container identities, and
collapse the parts of the tree you do not need right now.
Native Firefox tab groups appear inside the tree with their title and color.
Move tabs or complete groups between live and Saved windows, and restore a
complete Saved group without opening unrelated Saved tabs.
Saved windows can be moved to Trash and restored immediately with Undo. Emptying
Trash is a separate confirmed action. For protection outside the Firefox
profile, export the complete Vault as a readable JSON backup and independently
choose Open, Saved, and Trash records without overwriting the current session.
Branchkeeper opens in a dedicated compact manager window and is also available as a
Firefox sidebar.
Your browsing data stays on your device. Branchkeeper has no analytics, advertising,
host permissions, or external data service, and it does not run in private
browsing windows.
