Browser Download Streamer is a lightweight companion extension for Linux desktops. It listens to active download events and streams live progress metrics (current speed, bytes received, total file size, and estimated time remaining) to a local desktop status bar or widget via standard Mozilla Native Messaging.
Features: - Real-time download progress tracking - Throttled event loop for low resource and CPU consumption - Zero network overhead (all IPC communication is handled locally via stdin/stdout) - Does not collect, track, or transmit any user data
