More reliable account connection and a new welcome page
The small connection script now loads on bypassify.online pages so it is present even when the user reaches the connect page after signing in. It still does nothing anywhere except /app/connect-extension and only accepts messages from the bypassify.online origin. The first-run welcome page was redesigned with a progress bar and a one-click Connect button.
Continue with Google sign-in
The popup has a new Continue with Google button. It opens https://bypassify.online/app/connect-extension in a normal tab, where the user signs in on our website (Google or email). Pressing Connect extension hands the extension a single-use, short-lived sign-in code, which the extension exchanges for its own session with our authentication server. No password, Google token or website cookie ever reaches the extension.
New bridge content script (bridge.js)
A tiny script that runs only on https://bypassify.online/app/connect-extension (and the www variant). It accepts messages only from that same page and origin, forwards the one-time code to the background script, and reports success back. It reads nothing else from the page. The background script also rejects the code unless the sender is bypassify.online.
Works on more writing sites
The in-page quick-action script now also loads on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google Classroom, Canvas (instructure.com), Blackboard, Brightspace, Schoology, Microsoft 365 (office.com, sharepoint.com), Slack, Discord, HubSpot and Canva. It only reads text the user selects and only sends it when the user presses Humanize or Rewrite. Right-click, shortcuts and the popup keep working on other sites through activeTab.
Firefox for Android
The Firefox manifest now declares gecko_android with a minimum of Firefox 120.
Refreshed popup design
Rounded inputs, segmented Humanizer/Rewriter tabs, custom dropdown styling and clearer status and error messages. Same colours and features.Source code released under All Rights Reserved
