On any ChatGPT chat, click ↪ Carry on (bottom right). A new chat opens with a handoff already
in the message box:

• Where it started: your first request, so the new chat knows the goal
• Code from earlier in the chat that the recent messages don't show
• The most recent messages, word for word
• Pro: a summary ChatGPT writes in the old chat first (goal, decisions, current state, open
questions, next step)

Read it over and press Send, or turn on auto-send. When a chat is full, the button turns green
and the quick handoff still works, because it reads the conversation directly.

The new chat opens inside the same GPT or project. Handoffs fit a size you choose (short,
standard or long), keeping the newest messages first.
