Parental Browser Gate by SidFerreira
For families using the Parental Browser parent app. Sites a parent has not allowed are blocked, chosen sites get a daily time limit, and the child can ask for access. Parents see time per site and blocked sites.

About this extension
Parental Browser Gate is for parents. Install it on your child's Firefox and connect it to your account in the free Parental Browser parent app (in any browser at parent-controlled-browser.web.app/app, or on Android). Until it is connected, every page opens the pairing screen.
Important: once connected, the parent can see which sites are used on this browser, for how long each day, and which sites were blocked. Install it only on a browser used by a child you are responsible for, and tell your child that the browser is managed.
What it does
- New sites wait for your OK. Anything you have not set up is blocked and shows up in your inbox, where you allow it, give it a daily time, or keep it blocked.
- Daily time per site. Time only counts while the site is on screen and the computer is in use (watching a video counts).
- "Request access" and "Ask for more time" buttons on the block page. Answer from your phone, and the page opens by itself when you say yes.
- Schedules and routines: browsing hours for school days, weekends or holidays, and per-site hours.
- Time left is shown on timed sites, with a warning before it runs out.
- Sign-ins such as "Sign in with Google" work when they start from a site you allowed.
- Private browsing tabs are blocked, and nothing from them is sent or kept.
- Closed when in doubt: if the extension is disconnected from your account, or offline for longer than you allow, browsing stops instead of opening up.
What it sends, and to whom
Only to your family's account (Google Firebase, United States):
- time used per site per day (for example "wikipedia.org: 25 min"),
- for sites without a rule that were blocked: the site, one example address, the page that led there, and when and how often it was tried,
- your child's requests ("new site" or "more time").
It does not send a history of the pages visited on allowed sites, page content, what your child types, passwords or screenshots. No ads, no analytics, no trackers, and no code is downloaded from the internet. Full details: https://parent-controlled-browser.web.app/privacy.html
Permissions, in plain words
- Access your data for all websites, web requests, navigation and tabs: to check every page against your rules before it opens, and to show the block page instead.
- Storage, alarms and idle: to keep the rules and the day's time offline, count time only while the computer is used, and wake up on schedule.
- Notifications: the "time is almost up" warning.
Works on Firefox for desktop (140 or later) and Firefox for Android (142 or later). This is a small family project in early testing.
