- Rated 1 out of 5by USER-EXPERIENCEONLY, 3 years ago8/24/24: can't keep settings. reverts to default browser without input from user. A PITA to use it. Too many settings, too much trouble to set up. Lacks user manual so user must be html programmer to figure out how to use it. Slow to load sometimes won't load at all.
9-22: FB detects the settings on this and won't allow you to login. Need an instruction book on how to spoof so website still works. Settings require advanced coding/scripting knowledge otherwise you're just shooting urself in the foot. Spoof and defingerprint but make the sites still work.
6-2022: Dont use it much cuz safe script has ability to fine tune profile blocking which I do not see in this addon. Some sites won't let you login if you don't have the right time zone or browser listed-needed a way to report this from the addon so user knows why they are being blocked by a website. Slow to load.
Need further details in manual just what all the settings do and how to avoid website blocking while still not letting them id and track you. It's not bad, it's just somewhat incomplete.
1-10-22: when pages detect something not right in your settings, such as time zone wrong or browser version not correct or screen resolution incorrect under chameleon settings, then page will not load and you get an error message from chameleon "not on whitelist". well If I wanted it on the whitelist, I would not be using chameleon to begin with. Needed a way to trick webpages and obfuscate your browser fingerprint WITHOUT them blocking you. Only way to do that is with a residential proxy. So I don't really see what purpose Cham. is if the site KNOWS your profile is fake? Most sites don't track by browser version anyways. Am I missing something here? need better documentation showing users how to use cham. Also SLOW to load and they have not fixed the problem where some other program has a popup and then Cham will not popup
changed recently, now will not load facebook and keeps asking to white list it. When you try to "white list" it, does not take, have to disable this ext to use facebook, not good. No explaination given. bad. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13532323, 3 years ago

Inadequate documentation, blocks certain sites with no indication why?
Have to be an html programmer to understand most of the settings.
6-12-24: Still seriously lacking documentation. You have to be an html/script programmer to use it effectively. Very obtuse, no examples given of how to use it. Probably just makes your ID MORE obvious rather than less obvious.
12-17-22: You need a test site to see if the settings you make on Chameleon can be identified as fake. If they can using this addon is a BAD idea since the sites will know you're lying and you can be blocked on that basis. Needs more documentation to explain which settings to use and which will block sites. Most who use this are not programmers and therefore more documentation/explaination is needed. In my experience it works on some sites and not on others. I'd bet money that Fbook will block and or delete your profile is u use this addon.
so far the only add-on I have seen that CLAIMS to do what it does. Problem is there is no way to verify the site your connecting to does not see your spoof settings are PHONEY and there is nothing in their documentation to help you decide what you can get away with.'
Has gotten worse over time. Interferes with vpn proxy alerts. You have to close those to open settings on chameleon. Slow to load, sometimes won't and you have to restart browser. Conflicts with hoxx proxy or any proxy that tries to give small right and bottom alerts. program cannot then open settings until you close the proxy alerts. Otherwise good. Good documentation. Still need more documentation and tutorials as sites are getting pretty sophisticated in blocking/profiling browsers and detecting chameleon settings. - Rated 5 out of 5by szedar1, 3 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by the_dragonlord, 3 years agoThis add-on is awesome. My only true issue is that the mobile options clash with certain sites requiring desktop formats or certain browsers. This is understandable though. To remedy this, I disabled all classing browser options, including the all mobile browsers, Edge, and Firefox ESR.
Try the following site to test Chameleon after choosing your options:
https://valve.github.io/fingerprintjs2/
Once tested, refresh the page and test it again. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16721279, 3 years ago
