Privacy policy for ChatGPT Timekeeper
ChatGPT Timekeeper by Alex A
ChatGPT Timekeeper privacy policy
Updated October 11, 2026. Developer: AlexS778.
Drafts and timestamps
The extension reads and edits the current text draft on chatgpt.com to add your device's date, time and GMT offset. Draft text is handled temporarily in memory; the extension does not save prompts, responses or chat history.
When you choose Send, the timestamp and your message are sent to ChatGPT through the website's normal submission. The GMT offset can suggest a broad time-zone region, but is not a GPS location. Your device clock may be inaccurate. ChatGPT's own data handling applies to messages you send.
Local settings and control
Only the enabled on/off preference is saved in local extension storage, without extension-managed cloud sync. Turn off Automatically add time in the popup to stop adding timestamps. Removing the extension clears its local preference; it does not delete messages already sent to ChatGPT. Use ChatGPT's controls for those messages.
No developer collection
The extension makes no network requests, sends no data to its developer, and has no analytics, advertising, telemetry or remote code. Data is not sold, used for unrelated purposes or used for credit or lending decisions. Its handling of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Links and support
Source and issue links open GitHub only when you activate them. GitHub's own privacy practices then apply. For support or privacy questions, email probe-mumble7g@icloud.com or use https://github.com/AlexS778/chatgpt-timekeeper/issues. Please do not include private chat text or credentials; public issues are visible to everyone.
Policy changes
Changes to data handling will be documented here and in the release notes, with updated browser disclosures and consent where required.

This policy is also bundled as privacy.html and available offline from the popup. Update both copies together whenever data handling changes.
