About this extension
Citation Builder by pp4mnk is an academic citation generator designed for students, teachers, and researchers who work with online sources every day.
From any web page, you can:
Select text or simply open the page
Click the extension icon
Click “Capture from page” to automatically read:
Author (if available in meta tags)
Title
Publication date
Publisher / website name
URL
DOI (if present in meta tags or page text)
Once the metadata is captured, you can review and edit the fields if necessary, then generate formatted citations in different styles:
APA
MLA
Chicago
ISO 690
The generated citation appears in a dedicated text box, ready to be:
Copied to the clipboard
Saved into your personal citation library
Your library is stored locally using the browser’s storage and can be exported:
As BibTeX (for Zotero, Mendeley, LaTeX and other reference managers)
As plain text for quick copy & paste
In a Google Docs–friendly format (opens a page where you just copy and paste into a Doc)
This makes Citation Builder ideal for:
Academic writing and research
Student essays and assignments
Lesson planning and teaching materials
Literature reviews and reports
Quick citation management without heavy reference software
The goal is to provide a lightweight, browser-based citation assistant that lives directly where you read and research: your web browser.
