Citewise does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. When you cite a URL, the extension fetches that page's public metadata directly from your browser. When you cite a DOI, the DOI is sent to CrossRef's public API (api.crossref.org) to retrieve publication details, with no other data accompanying that request. Your bibliography list is stored locally in your browser using Firefox's storage API and is never transmitted anywhere. Lastly, citewise has no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party advertising.
