posted 16 days agoThanks for the feedback. About the support for wikiquote, I know this is frustrating and I am frustrated too. I tried to make the list of supported websites as clear and prominent as possible.
The reason for wikiquote not being supported is that adding support for new websites requires asking new security permissions to existing users of the add-on. And unfortunately, asking these security permissions turns out to be an annoyance to them. In the past the add-on lost users just after I added support for Wikipedia's sister projects (Commons, wiktionary, etc.). So now, I prioritize keeping the add-on as stable as possible over adding support for new websites, unless there's a strong demand for it.
I keep this issue in the back of my mind though, as you're not the first one to raise it (e.g. see this discussion https://github.com/jeanbaptisteb/classic_wikipedia/issues/2 ). As a solution satisfying to everyone, I was thinking about creating a new, separate add-on that would allow users to add themselves wiki websites they want to have support for. However, this would require some non-trivial development time that I don't currently have. Maybe other developers would be interested in such a project.
