How to write tests?

You can call functions on your site, and check if the results for that function are the same as you expected.
And you can trigger events, like a click on a button or link.
And you can fill and check input field.
In the options page for the addons you can add multiple tests.
To run the test, you can click on the icon, and watch the web console for the results.
