About this extension
Clip That for Twitch lets you create clips hands-free. While you stream, just say "Clip That" (or any phrase you choose) and the add-on asks Twitch to clip the moment you just had. No hotkeys, no alt-tabbing.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Log in with Twitch once. The add-on only asks for permission to create clips on your own channel.
2. Pick your language and trigger phrase.
3. Press "Start listening", allow microphone access, and go live.
When the phrase is recognized, a clip is created and a notification appears. Click it to open the clip in Twitch and edit or publish it.
FREE AND PRIVATE
- Speech recognition runs entirely on your computer (Vosk, offline). Your voice is never uploaded or sent to any server.
- No account, subscription or API key needed. The add-on collects no data.
- The speech model (about 40 MB) is downloaded once on first start and then stored in your browser.
BUILT FOR STREAMING
- Custom trigger phrase, with English, Czech, Spanish and Russian speech models.
- Adjustable pause between clips to prevent accidental double clips.
- Performance graph: see how much CPU the add-on uses over the last 60 seconds. If you ever report a performance problem, "Copy diagnostics" gives you everything needed in one click.
- Power-saving mode (on by default): recognition only runs while you are speaking, which keeps CPU usage low during silence.
GOOD TO KNOW
- Twitch only allows clips while your channel is live.
- Keep the pinned "Clip That" tab open while listening. Closing it stops listening.
- Use common words of the selected language for the phrase. A longer phrase means fewer false triggers.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by Twitch. Twitch is a trademark of Twitch Interactive, Inc.
PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
- Microphone: to hear your trigger phrase (processed locally only).
- identity: Twitch login.
- api.twitch.tv / id.twitch.tv: to verify your login and create clips.
- ccoreilly.github.io: one-time download of the speech model.
- storage / unlimitedStorage: to save your settings and the speech model.
- notifications: to tell you when a clip is ready.
