Latest version
Version 1.2
Released Aug 23, 2026 - 636.35 KBWorks with firefox 109.0a1 and later- The search window (Days back / Date range / Cache only / Everything) is now chosen first, on its own row at the top of the options bar — previously the last field silently governed all the others
- Inputs that don't apply to the chosen window are dimmed and disabled, so the active search window is unambiguous
- A plain-language hint spells out exactly what will be searched
- "New + cache" and "Entire site" merged into a single Everything (cache + new) option — they behaved identically, and "entire site" never triggered the full re-scrape its name implied (saved preferences migrate automatically)
- "Search usernames only" and "Open results in a new tab" moved up beside the window controls, since they also define the search
- Searches no longer skip fetching when the cache is stale: the window-coverage check now also requires the cache to be current, so recent comments are picked up instead of being silently missed
- The chosen search window is remembered again — programmatic date updates were overwriting the saved preference and forcing the mode back to "date range"
- Restoring a saved window now applies its full UI state, so a restored mode no longer looks like it reset
- "Cache only" now counts the entire cache rather than a date-filtered subset
- The "in window" count updates as the window changes (it was computed once and then frozen)
- An empty result page is logged as a normal end-of-data rather than an error
- The "in window" count no longer re-reads and decompresses the whole comment cache on every keystroke — timestamps are extracted once and reused
- Range counting uses binary search instead of scanning every comment
- Count updates are debounced, and the memo is refreshed when new comments are merged
- Collapsing a section near the bottom of the page no longer causes a jump, via a dynamically sized bottom spacer that leaves no permanent empty space
