by Dogger, 3 years agoIt's perfect. It does exactly what I need it to do. It lets me access the search engines I selected in the Firefox settings by right-clicking on selected test. There's no irritating setup required, and the selected text is forwarded to one of the engines you're already using.

- Rated 2 out of 5by circcc, 3 years agoThe submenu is too messy. I wish the submenu only showed the search engine name.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Sans Undertale, 4 years agoI switched from this to SSS because there was always a delay from when you right click selected text to when the context menu option to search appears. Works as advertised otherwise, but I would love an update that fixed this. Seeing as it hasn't been updated since 2019, I somehow don't see that happening.
Edit: Found an extension as simple as this, but without the delay: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/simple-context-search/ - Rated 5 out of 5by Vedun, 5 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by thuerrsch, 6 years agoI've just installed this as a replacement for "ContextSearch web-ext", which has fallen victim to a bad case of feeping creaturism™. Compared to that Context Web Search is minimalism at its best (apart from wrapping each search engine name in "Search [foo] for [bar]", which I find quite unnecessary).
I hope this extension will keep its context menu up-to-date and tidy over time as I add/remove/re-order my search plugins. We'll see. For the time being: kudos to the author for doing one thing and doing it well!
