by cosmicomics, 7 years agoThis add-on is good at deleting ordinary cookies, but, unlike Self-Destructing Cookies, it doesn't offer the option of hiding the window and turning off the noise when cookies are being deleted. It's especially irksome when I'm listening to music while browsing. I would very much appreciate it if you could add this option.
Edit 1
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm referring to the noise that comes with the notifications. I downloaded the add-on yesterday, and the preferences page showed the "welcome" text, but not the settings. Now it does. I haven't checked "Show Notification After Cookie CleanUp," but that hasn't had any effect. I've clicked "SAVE," but there's no indication that anything has been saved.
One last thing: After each setting there's a question mark, but when I click on a question mark nothing happens. I had hoped that clicking would show a short explanation of what the setting does. It would be helpful if it did.
Edit 2
I deleted Firefox and re-added it without the old files, and now I have access to the settings. Everything seems to work as it should. Thanks for your help.

Developer response
posted 7 years agoDo you mean the notifications because you can disable that in the settings as I said in the addon page.
Edit 1:
I think either your Firefox profile might be broken or there's another extension that's disabling JavaScript on the settings page.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Cooper, 8 days agoDoesn't seem to work anymore. Doesn't delete cookies not in the whitelist. They just remain even after restarting firefox, despite manually doing with clean button. Can confirm by visiting Privacy Settings > Manage Data.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Skybreaker, 14 days agoThis used to be a great extension, but it no longer works. Cookies from sites that are not on my whitelist are not being deleted. They remain after I restart Firefox and even after manually clicking the “clean” button.

- Rated 1 out of 5by BZ, 3 months agoAbandoned Extension; no updates in over a year and a half. Very hard to sync across devices if you use Container Tabs. Doesn't seem to be compatible with recent Firefox cookie changes; I found dozens of unexpected cookies which were not autodeleted.

Unfortunately there is no way to 'Automatically delete unwanted cookies from your closed tabs while keeping the ones you want' as there are no controls or drop down menus available. Extension last updated 2 years ago.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15095017, 4 months agoWhat a dumb interface. You need to make it LOUD & CLEAR what each button does. I just erased all the cookies for all of my website logins ever because the stupid drop-down menu of the "Clean" button decided to wipe out everything and not just the cookies for the site I was on. Stupid. Nowhere in any app/ext/software is something that detrimental so easy to do with the click-of-a-button, for good reason. There was no warning at all. Clearing the cookies for the current site should stand alone as it's the most common function for the average user, period. Not an opinion.

- Rated 5 out of 5by island_in_the_sun, 5 months agoIt's so quiet here ;) No more annoying "click me" screaming Cookie banners. Love it!
I use it with "I still don't care about cookies", so I don't even have to worry being followed on my cookie crumb trail... - Rated 5 out of 5by igorlogius, 5 months ago
