CSV Viewer by Shipit Software

Open a CSV or TSV file in a full browser tab and inspect its rows without uploading it. CSV Viewer works offline after installation and does not require an account.

Choose or drop a UTF-8 file and inspect it in a compact, full-tab workspace. Search across all columns, combine column filters, hide columns you do not need, and sort a column ascending, descending or back to its original order. Move through larger tables one page at a time. Copy all matching rows in visible columns to paste into a spreadsheet, or export them as CSV, including results beyond the current page. Filters on hidden columns stay active and are identified in the summary. Automatic separator detection supports common files; choose a comma, semicolon, tab or pipe when needed. Use Cmd/Ctrl+F to search and Cmd/Ctrl+O to open another file.

Files are processed locally in the viewer tab. The extension has no website access permissions, content scripts, analytics or remote code. Closing or reloading the tab clears the file from memory. Copying places only your chosen filtered table on the clipboard; exports are downloads you choose to save. Companion website links open only when clicked, and that website has its own privacy policy.

Limits: 20 MB per file, 100,000 data rows and 200 columns, with 100 rows displayed per page. The first non-empty row supplies headings. Files must be UTF-8. Copied and exported values prefix spreadsheet formula-like values with an apostrophe. This extension does not edit source files or automatically open browser downloads.
