It's helped me become more aware of where my purchases come from, and I'm often able to find similar items at a lower cost from local sources. This extension has been a valuable tool in making more informed shopping decisions.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Dmitri Smirnov, a year agoCultivate has transformed my Amazon shopping experience. I love being able to see where products are coming from, and it's surprisingly satisfying to choose items that support local businesses. The price comparison feature is a huge bonus, often leading me to better deals than what Amazon offers. I've saved a considerable amount while also shopping more consciously.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Carlos, a year agoI recently installed Cultivate on my browser and it's worth it. Incredible how it identifies the country of origin for alternative products, allowing me to support local businesses more often. Plus, I've consistently found better deals through the alternatives suggested by the extension. It's a must-have for anyone looking to shop smarter and support local industries.

- Rated 2 out of 5by John Mullen, a year agoThe plugin is too US-centric. Most items on the amazon.de website in Germany are depicted as being of unknown origin. The "rewards" are in US dollars, and all partner merchants are US only which don't exist here in Germany.

- Rated 1 out of 5by daneweimmama, a year agoFrustrating - showed an alternative to a product on Amazon. The alternatives were based in China. Not helpful. I would have emailed to discuss my issue but app does not provide an email

- Rated 4 out of 5by WhatDoesFreedomMean2U, a year agoThank you for making this add on. My goals are to know the manufacturer, avoid abusive work conditions, like China, and find products, sometimes more expensive, from high quality manufacturers, like Japan, Germany, etc. This saves me a lot of separate looking up and verifying product lines, but for each item it saves me about 30 min of effort. The local products feature doesn't ever show me anything, but I'd be happy to see it working someday. The trouble I am having, is that the manufacturer feature doesn't work on Walmart, only Amazon. Does your addon only reveal manufacturer on Amazon, and not on any partners? That's still very helpful, but it limits usefulness for me.
Thank you for your response... I am clicking check locally. But there's nothing there after it loads. It just asks me my zip code again and again.
The revealing manufacturers feature is the main reason for me. I noticed that US farmers who sell from their farms sometimes don't register the source of the food. So for instance, if you look at Marsh Hen Mills products, they grow, mill and package their own grains. But the origin says unknown. At first this was confusing, especially since any search like "Carolina grits" brings up a question mark for nearly every product in the search results page. I got used to it quickly though.
There's a "firefox is slow because of an addon" message while using Amazon. I'm assuming you're aware of this and are working on it. (windows 10, ff 118.0.2 atm)
I really appreciate the effort you've put into making this a useful tool and I'm happy to wait for improvements. Thank you.Developer response
posted a year agoHi! In order to see local options, you'll have to click the "check locally" button in the snippet.
We're exploring revealing on other merchants as soon as possible, as well.
Thank you so much for giving us a chance! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17498471, a year agoIts working now on amazon.in as well saves me soo much time when shopping on amazon

posted a year agoAs of this very moment, we're live in India! At least to show you country of origin on Amazon product search pages. We'll soon add the alternatives, as well! - Rated 5 out of 5by Jeff, a year agoLooking for baby monitors, found it for $60 cheaper and received $3 in cash back - easy money.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Mr Fhenix, a year agonice idea.. but running it against amazon the tool wont consider shipping charges from its suggested sites ... and the saving makes no sense at all

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17984849, a year agoDoesn't seem to actually do anything. You go to a website, you get a pop-up that says "get 0.2% cash back!" you click to confirm, and then nothing else really happens. I've made dozens of purchases, and I just now checked my all-time cash back: $0.00.
Also if you're browsing amazon, you get this little pop-up that's basically like "this was made in china" and I'm like "...yeah. thanks."
The dev vehemently denies that it harvests your data but it literally says "Store unlimited amount of client-side data" and
"Access your data for all web sites" right on the permissions panel. So it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this free app is literally just a data harvesting tool. - Rated 2 out of 5by Dylan, a year agoThe extension is just ok. I never really use the suggestion since the recommendations are not in any way what I am trying to purchase. The other is it says it saves you money, but it cannot find products that are cheaper than the one I am buying. It also says you can redeem the money said, but at the same time it does not allow you to redeem said money. I like the idea I just do not think it is implemented well. Despite these issues, I do plan on still activating it and seeing how much I got cashback for donation purposes.

posted a year agoHi Dylan!
Happy to help in any way we can here. Can you tell us where you're seeing poor recommendations? We've gotten a lot better over the last two weeks in upgrading our algorithm.
In terms of redemption, the money can be redeemed once we have received final confirmation from our merchant partners that the order will be paid. This can take up to 90 days at times but usually averages around 25 days. At that moment, the amount becomes available to you and you can redeem it for cash, gift cards, or donate!
Hope that's helpful.
Best,
Cultivate Team - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17962898, a year agoIdentifies products and their origins correctly but so far all supposedly cheaper options have actually been more expensive, quite often significantly so. Frequently claims no shipping cost on its "cheaper" alternative then at worst actual shipping cost is 40$+. Can't recommend.

posted a year agoHi! There was an issue where the shipping price wasn't being added in for eBay and that has been resolved. Sorry for the trouble you had here. - Rated 5 out of 5by Robert McJr, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by KingForKings, 2 years agoSo far a great extention. ADVChina mentioned this and one of the PC centred retro PC channels in the last 2 years. It is so sad to see so much Chinese Landfill-waste on Amazon. NOW EVEN PS5 CONTROLLERS are hidden on Amazon Germany. This was no the thing a few weeks ago or Cultvate adds this as a highlight which I doubt. Wish someone comes up with a EU-wide online shop e.g. France or Netherlands and is pro middle-tier companies first and anti copy right theft.

So far all I can do is see some useful info but can't earn points.
