- Rated 1 out of 5by Luc, a year agoThere is no option at all. And I took a moment to try to get anything.
I only get a squared video player, but the video itself is still rounded. There are just black pixels added to make the video squared.
Answer: I cannot "set the layout to anything else" because, as I said, I have NO OPTION AT ALL. Nothing to configure the extension.Developer response
posted a year agoYou must have the layout set to "Disabled", where the video player is not supposed to be squared (the black pixels around the player is actually a bug, the whole thing is supposed to remain rounded). Try setting the layout to anything else (2021 is the closest to the current layout), and the video should be squared.
Edit: To change settings, pin the extension to the toolbar, then click on the icon to make the config window pop up. Here's how you do that: https://imgur.com/a/IIxddDa - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14532424, a year ago10/10 hope youtube funds this project as you work better than their entire team, thanks for making this!
- Rated 5 out of 5by megakarlach, a year agoIt just works. Almost perfect, despite there are few issues and limitations but works great.
10/10.
Also F Google/YT for previously killing the proper old layout that does not requires extensions to run on top of the new, slow and bloated UI. - Rated 5 out of 5by myedition8, a year ago

PS: Is there a way to report bugs somewhere?Developer response
posted a year agoYes, that does seem to happen on some videos. I'll look into it.
Edit: Yes, you can report bugs to the CustomTube Github: https://github.com/lightbeam24/CustomTube/issues - Rated 5 out of 5by Vedun, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Haista, 2 years agoNice addon! Noticed a couple of bug-like things. With ESR Firefox yt subscription page thumbs will now lose 3-dot menu button. And the addon settings aren't settable. Are those things fixable? Thanks!
Response to dev...
Apologies for not mentioning that the addon is problematic with ESR 52.9.0, in Windows XP environment. I did find the setting though. Youtube still works in WinXP, but ever since they introduced the polymer bloat, it's usability has gradually gone downhill. That goes for modern OS's also, so thanks again for trying to make things better!
P.S. The addon works perfectly in Win10. And as much as I would love to, I'm not expecting the addon to become compatible with WinXP.Developer response
posted 2 years agoThanks!
I downloaded Firefox 102 ESR to test, and I was able to edit the settings just fine. Are you sure you found the popup with all the settings? A few users reported not being able to find it at first. The CustomTube icon should be either on your browser toolbar, or in the Extensions list (by clicking on the extensions button beside Firefox's menu button). Click the icon to open the popup.
If you actually did find the popup and were still unable to change settings, please consider making an issue on the CustomTube Github: https://github.com/lightbeam24/customtube/issues
As for the subscription page thumbnails, YouTube has been A/B testing a new icon system, where the icons take much longer to load. Try refreshing the page while on the subscriptions page, and wait 5-10 seconds. The 3 dots should have appeared by then. - Rated 5 out of 5by Mikky, 2 years agoMakes YouTube much more useful on a PC screen. It's nice to once again see more than six videos on my subscriptions page :)
I'd love to see a toggle that would make clicking the YouTube logo redirect me to /feed/subscriptions instead of the main page. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17936306, 2 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by InvisibleAkari, 2 years agoSeriously a lot of fun to see these old styles in action again. Also, HUGE props for adding the 'remove irrelevant search results' function, which makes searching through YouTube for old and niche videos so much better!
