DarkMode-for-resistant-sites by DarkSky

DarkMode is for the resistant cases — sites that shrug off ordinary dark-mode extensions. Most darkeners politely override element styles; DarkMode instead flips the rendered page across the color wheel (white to black, black to white, red to cyan, yellow to blue) via a CSS filter, which reaches inline styles, canvases, color-scheme lock-ins, and pages whose white background is the browser canvas behind a transparent root. Pictures are exempt: images, video, canvases and embedded frames are flipped back to their natural colors.

It does nothing until you ask:
- Click the toolbar icon, then "Darken this page" (this visit only).
- Tick "Always dark on <site>" and that site auto-darkens on future visits (stored locally in browser sync storage; nothing is ever auto-added).
- The active button reads "Disable Dark Mode override" — one click reverts.

Gmail is the one exception: it already has a dark theme, so DarkMode never inverts it. Instead, it silently corrects the few panels Gmail's dark theme leaves white, using colors taken from Gmail's own palette.

Settings are stored in the browser's own extension storage. No accounts, no servers, no remote code. Known trade-off of the filter tactic: position: fixed headers can misbehave on some pages, and screenshots capture the darkened rendering.
