by Ervit, 6 years agoIt works! Very convenient. The fact that icons are not pretty is unfortunate but not critical.
I wonder if it's possible to put these controls on the tab itself (in the tab bar) as an option?

I think to popup on over is not enabled by firefox webextension, I don't think it will be enable at any time.
And what do you mean by the fonts ?
Thank you.
Chowbi - Rated 3 out of 5by rafaews, 3 years agoIt's nice but I feel like it's more for you to use shortcuts than the buttons. If I have to click once to access the buttons and then again to pause or play, I might as well just find the Deezer tab and then click again to play/pause. It would be awesome if you could create the buttons separately in order to allow us to customize the toolbar... then we could play/pause and whatever with one click. Cool idea right? I don't know if it's possible, though.

posted 3 years agoIf I understand well :
- It is not possible to have the toolbar included in firefox toolbar, it must be one button to open a view.
- What might be possible, is to have one single button but for one single action. But it might be another addon to perform this.
If you'd like to see some improvments, feel free to open an issue on github : https://github.com/Chowbi/DeeToolBar/issues - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17046590, 3 years ago

posted 3 years agoHi,
Thanks a lot for this review.
You can customize shortcuts directly via firefox : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-extension-shortcuts-firefox.
To activate shortcuts, click on the square at the right of the panel. There's an option to activate it by default in the addon options menu.
Hope it'll fits your wants.
Regards.

posted 4 years agoHi,
In the new version you can tick "Activate shortcut on load" in the options !
Hope it fits your needs.
As it is now possible, shortcuts are set by default on "media keys". You can change this behaviour in firefox : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-extension-shortcuts-firefox.
Regards.

posted 5 years agoHi, I tried to but didn't managed to do it. I've tried to interact with the UI or interact with the api, none of those succeed. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13688461, 5 years ago

Although you addon is great, there are some small flaws for me:
- I'm using ctrl+shift+arrows to select whole words (standard shortcuts), so for me current unconfigurable keyboard shortcuts are unusable.
- Icons don't look good - I think it will be great to try for example Material Design icons: https://material.io/tools/icons/?style=round - Apache 2.0 license.
FYI Deezer is planning new beta interface which doesn't work now with this addon (you can check it using Deezer Labs). It will become a problem when they make it stable and default, but of course it's not the problem so far.
I'm a programmer, so maybe I can help you with some features? I didn't contributed to FF addons so far so I don't know where to find source code to contribute to.Developer response
posted 6 years agoHi,
thanks a lot for you review !
I have some work to do on this small module as Mozilla is asking to use the last version of Jquery, what it doesn't, and some other small things.
For sure icons are also a point !
I don't have much time for now to work on DeezerToolbar, but it shouldn't be too hard to adapt it to the new Deezer interface as it is rather simple and uses DOM to act.
Of course the code is open source and can be found here : https://github.com/Chowbi/DeeToolBar. Don't hesitate to fork / contribute.

Is this any way to use media keys instead of default shortcuts?Developer response
posted 6 years agoHi,
thanks a lot for your review !
Unfortunately for now Firefox doesn't allow it... I for sure have to change shortcuts... and when I developped it, it wasn't possible to use media keys for shortcuts, have to look after it now.
A point is also that it wasn't possible to use custom shortcuts. If you want to suggest some new shortcuts, the important fact is that it must not be a firefox shortcut.

Indeed, I'm not a web-designer, nor an artist. But I hope they are pretty self-documented.
Any help appreciated !
Thanks- Rated 4 out of 5by Eduardo Mozart de Oliveira, 7 years agoHello Developer,
I'm using DeezerToolbar since Firefox 57 (Quantum) release. It's being hard to find extensions compatible with this new version of Firefox, since Mozilla changed extensions to WebExtension ones.
I'm having just a little trouble: hotkeys support is not working anymore. I press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[Up] and it doesn't work. The same happens when I try any other key shortcut, but changing the music from the DeezerToolbar icon works normally. I'm using Linux Deepin 15.5 (based on Debian "Sid" x86_64). The rightest button on Deezer Toolbar is green.
[EDIT] I remove and reinstall the extension and it back working again in Firefox Quantum. - Rated 4 out of 5by toto, 7 years agoFirst of all thanks alot for this module, it is a life changer for me and my 30 trillions tabs.
Can confirm it works on Mac too (Ctrl key is changed to cmd key as usual)
The only thing a little bit annoying is that these shortcuts are also used in some text editing or even web navigation so if I enable it, I can't do ctrl+left/cmd+left top go to beggining of text for example, or do cmd+up to go to top of page. Even when shortcuts are disabled, it seems to still capture the keys sometime (e.g Firefox URL bar) and replace the usual behaviour.
What could be cool is to be able to change the shortcuts bindings, or else when disabled, to disable it completely everywhere.
Besides that thanks again for this little module !Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello,
I've updated the addon and shortcuts have changed, add shift to previous ones.
Firefox shall add soon the ability to change shortcuts, so you can change them as you want.
The fact that shortcuts don't disable completly looks like a Firefox bug.
Regards. - Rated 5 out of 5by Quinton, 7 years agoDoes exactly what it says on the box. I love the simplicity of it. Not having to hunt the right tab is awesome.
I like the fact that I can turn off the keyboard shortcuts.
