But it has a bug which closes all your tabs which are on the block list, when you close and then reopen your browser with the same tabs. - Rated 5 out of 5by Naveen, a year ago

It comes with a default list. You can remove anything on the list by clicking the X on the right side of the list, opposite what you want to remove. That was nice. I did get rid of a few on the list.
Very very easy to use. You just type in the url of the site you want to block if it isn't already on the list.
I tried it before I decided to keep it. I went to facebook, and immediately the page said I'd blocked this page. I mean, this thing was quick!
At this point, I would recommend it (other site blockers were too complicated for my brain to quite understand all they were saying. This is exactly what I was looking for). - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12363296, 4 years agoThere is a difference between simple and easy in a way that almost makes them antonyms. This add on is the former, but not the latter.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 11321600, 5 years agoWow, just what I've been wanting. I've been trying to find something like this for ages but have never been able to determine the right words to search for. I'm not sure if user reviews show up in Add-on search results but in case they do, I would suggest relevant key-words are "time management", "web timer", "selective website blocker", "website filter", "time waster", "hosts file" . Maybe the dev can add these to the description? :)
For anyone looking for a more feature-ful extension, I'll note this is forked from another extension called "Impulse Blocker" that gives you some more options for timers etc., but after trying both I prefer the simple experience Digital Detox provides, and the more polished user experience. The default blocklist is a nice convenience and makes it easy to figure out how it works right out of the box. I'm still not quite clear on what the statistics mean on the settings page, some tool-tips there would be nice.Developer response
posted 5 years agoThanks for the great feedback! The simple experience was indeed my intent with this version of Impulse Blocker :) To improve the statics I have added several tooltips to explain the meaning of the columns. - Rated 3 out of 5by Bruno Moreira-Guedes, 5 years agoGood idea, yet a too "radical" implementation. Perhaps a "time control" or something like that would be a cool improvement.

posted 5 years agoFor more control you can maybe try the extension Impulse Blocker. Digital Detox is a fork from this extension with a focus on simplicity and great UI. Impulse Blocker gives more control. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14734621, 6 years agoSimple, awesome tool for blocking websites. Just gives a simple message rather than annoying pictures. Excellent!
