Display YT Dislikes is a free browser extension that shows estimated dislike counts on YouTube. This policy explains what data it handles.

What is sent, and to whom
When you open a YouTube video or Short, the extension sends that video's ID to the Return YouTube Dislike API at returnyoutubedislikeapi.com. This is the only way to get the dislike estimate, because YouTube no longer provides it.

As with any web request, the Return YouTube Dislike service also receives your IP address and the time of the request. Its handling of that data is covered by the Return YouTube Dislike project's own policies at returnyoutubedislike.com.

What is not collected
- No names, email addresses, account details, passwords or cookies.
- No browsing history outside YouTube video pages.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- The developer of this extension does not run any server and receives no data at all.

What is stored
Results are kept in the tab's memory so that revisiting a video soon after does not repeat the request. A saved result is never reused after 10 minutes and is scheduled for deletion at that point (the browser may run the deletion slightly late). The count currently on screen stays until you leave that video. Everything is cleared when you close or reload the tab.

The extension does not keep a viewing history and does not use any permanent extension storage. It also tells the browser not to keep its own cached copy of the API's replies.

Sharing and selling
Data is never sold or shared with anyone other than the Return YouTube Dislike API described above, and it is only used to show dislike counts.

Your choices
You can turn the extension off at any time from your browser's extensions page, for example before watching a video you prefer to keep private. New tabs are affected right away. In YouTube tabs that were already open, the extension stops itself the next time the page changes. To be completely sure, reload or close those tabs after turning it off.

Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new date.
