About this extension
DogEar is a browser extension that remembers where you left off on the sites you visit most.
You're reading a long webcomic and you close the tab. Next time you type the site into your address bar, you're back on the homepage -- and now you have to remember which page you were on. DogEar fixes that. For any site you opt in, it remembers your last page and takes you straight back there the next time you visit the site's root.

You're reading a long webcomic and you close the tab. Next time you type the site into your address bar, you're back on the homepage -- and now you have to remember which page you were on. DogEar fixes that. For any site you opt in, it remembers your last page and takes you straight back there the next time you visit the site's root.
How to use it:
- Right-click the toolbar icon on any site and choose "Track this domain" (or "Track this Site" to track just a subpath).
- The next time you navigate to that site's root -- bare homepage, or a tracked path root -- DogEar redirects you to where you left off.
Features:
- Opt-in only. You choose which sites to track -- nothing is monitored by default.
- Host or subpath tracking. Track a whole domain or pin DogEar to a specific section of a site.
- Only redirects roots. Bare host roots and tracked path roots redirect; any specific page you visit is left alone.
- Handles site redirects. Won't lose your saved page to a site's own redirect behaviour.
- Bookmark shortcuts. Create bookmarks for tracked sites in a dedicated DogEar folder -- and manage them right from the options page.
- Full management. Add, edit, remove, and sort tracked sites from the options page.
- Import/export. Move your tracked sites between browsers or machines, with checksum-verified JSON.
- Private by design. No content scripts, no remote services, no dependencies. Everything stays in your browser.
