- Rated 5 out of 5by bat, 5 years agoIts a good add-on for your web-browser if you want to back-up websites by making a local copy of everything including files which are linked to by the web-page. You may need to customise your native terminal type and tweak the wget options to save the files in a safe place (-P /home/jim/Downloads), so your command-line knowledge will improve, too!!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13717991, 7 years agoThe file successfully downloads but it is deleted after the terminal is closed. This can be circumvented by copying the downloaded file before closing the terminal, but at that point the add-on ceases to be convenient, and you may as well just use wget manually. Thus, this is not usable until the problem is fixed.

I was trying to download video files of .mkv type and ranging in size from 300 to 450 MB. But all failed. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13516302, 7 years agoIt works, to download at least. PROBLEM: When I close the terminal window, after the download is done, the file disappears from the destination folder! I have to manually copy and paste each downloaded file before closing the terminal window, because of the original file always disappearing! FlashGot works with Wget without this issue, just it's not compatible with Firefox 57 unfortunately, so I might have to install an older version of Firefox over this.
