- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15153118, 5 years agoA great add-on, very useful, but it has horrible icons with no power of intuition and help of colors. Poor set of icons.
Also for lack of instructions for using scripts in the script build box. I tried several models (js, scr, vbs, bat, py ...) but none worked. A how-to is missing with the used language statements.
-----REPOST EM ADDITION.
Hi. Thank you for your attention and response.
In a previous message posted by another user, it seems easier to recreate a set of new icons than adding new icons to the existing set.
I did not find a link to donate to the project.
However, my thanks for the effort for the continuity of easyGesture, waiting for the changes in the set of icons.Developer response
posted 5 years agoThanks for pointing out the lack of instructions related to the Run Script actions; I'll try to improve on this in a future release. You can only use JavaScript and you get access to the window and document objects to interact with the current web page. However, don't depend too much on this feature; it always gets flagged by Mozilla when I release new versions of the extension and might therefore be subject to changes in the near future. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13718663, 6 years ago"1. The old icons were no longer up to date; many actions did not have an (appropriate) icon."
Icons dont degrade ( unless the supported format changes) so the "up to date' is a 'change to a new (icon) fashion'
and rather than add an appropriate icon you made an entire new (worse) icon set. Very good.
(Note it's worse because smaller, low contrast and no color)
"2. They were not adapted to high resolution displays (and the pie menu looked awful on those)."
Presumably the new ones are now adapted to high resolution displays but now look like uncontrasted random scribble everywhere (else) - also excellent
"3. Their sources were not available, so I could not update them."
Because of course the only way to update *icons* is from their source.
"4. Their license was unknown."
But historically released and freely available with this use .
"If you provide me with a new set of icons satisfying the above requirements, I might consider providing an option to use them."
Rather than just providing an option to use the original icons where they might make more sense to do so...
Conversely if you provide an option to use the old icons I might consider continuing to use this add-on. Otherwise I guess a downgrade and update halt is in order - the latest update has nothing i need or desire and actually makes the
usability, recognition and functionality of the add-on worse rather than better...
Thx for your efforts tho'
