posted a month agoWe're sorry you have had this experience shopping at AliExpress while using our Rakuten Browser Extension. Our extension, once activated, is there to track your eligible purchase made through AliExpress for Cash Back, and should not interfere with the any viewed page or the checkout process. All purchases are made directly with the merchant through their website. The extension is just there to help apply eligible coupons and to make sure your purchase tracks for Cash Back. If you believe our extension is interfering with the checkout process, please reach out to our team at socialhelp@rakuten.com so we can help you out.- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18693881, a month ago

posted a month agoWe typically see these issues when our Members have any ad or internet traffic blocking extensions added and enabled in the browser they use to access our services or at the computer/network level when shopping from a laptop or desktop computer. This issue may also be caused by the anti-virus software you currently use. Updating the extensions, anti-virus software, or your router to trust Rakuten, in most cases, resolves these issues. For more help, please reach out to us at socialhelp@rakuten.com. - Rated 3 out of 5by SL, a month agoI'm new to this extension. It adds an obnoxious floating purple bubble on the right side of the screen that pops up on a bunch of websites and then asks me to "check for deals". This creates attention fatigue. A very poor UX choice by the company.
Sure, I can click "disable for this session" or "disable for 30m" but I still shouldn't have to do that.
So far after a month, I've earned zero dollars. Not worth the hassle.Developer response
posted a month agoThank you for this feedback about our Rakuten Browser Extension. We are sorry this new feature isn't to your liking. You can slide this "bubble" out of the way, up and down the viewed page. Like you are aware, it can be hidden for 30 minutes or hidden for the shopping session. If, for some reason, you find this feature is not ideal for how you like to shop, you can uninstall our extension and shop by visiting our website, Rakuten.com, directly or by shopping from our app on any iPhone, iPad, or Android device. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17430646, 2 months ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by aurpine, 4 months agoIt used to work well but the latest update broke it. Clicking the extension doesn't do anything anymore and you can't activate so it's essentially useless. The bubble still shows up on pages though.
Edit: tried reinstalling and it still doesn't work. There's something wrong with version 5.48.0Developer response
posted 4 months agoYou can get our extension back up and running by uninstalling it from your copy of Firefox (if installed). Then, you can download our Rakuten Browser Extension from our website, Rakuten.com, or through Firefox Browser Add-Ons page. If you have any more questions or encounter any more issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at socialhelp@rakuten.com - Rated 1 out of 5by SFinSF, 4 months agoDisabled due to the persistent bubble that sits like a festering boil, unable to be lanced.
Guess what, when you don't give the option to turn off an annoying "feature" then people disable the extension.
BTW, I've been using eBates/Rakuten for 20+ years, since 2001.Developer response
posted 4 months agoThank you for sharing this feedback about the recent updates to our extension. We'll use this, and other Member feedback, to continue to improve our extension to make it a more seamless and less intrusive addition to your shopping experiences. - Rated 1 out of 5by user5678, 4 months agoThe recent update to add the floating widget on screen is extremely annoying. Makes shopping impossible. I can't see what I'm shopping for!
Unrelated to that but still a problem is that over the past 6 months or so the extension seems to have stopped working. I need to fill out a ticket to get my cash back every time I buy something now. I've turned off other extensions I thought might be interfering with it but no luck. Been using Rakuten since 2018 without any issues until recently.Developer response
posted 4 months agoThank you for this feedback about this new feature of our extension. We are sorry this new feature is in your way. You can move the "bubble" icon up and down the side of the website so you are able to see anything it may be currently blocking from view.

posted 4 months agoThank you for this feedback about this new feature of our extension. We are sorry this new feature is in your way. It can be turned off for 30 minutes, or for the current session. You can always track your eligible purchases for Cash Back by visiting our website, Rakuten.com, or through our app available for iPhones, iPads, and Android phones as an alternative to using our extension. - Rated 1 out of 5by Thomas, 5 months agoNew update forces a pop-up bubble that you can only remove "for this shopping session." If this isn't removed I will uninstall the app from every single one of my devices. This is garbage.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12671795, 7 months agoI appreciate "free money", but for all the promo and promises, I've never gotten a "Big Check" for more than $50...most are more like $32 - $35. And as far as following up on Cashback that I think I have coming...most of it didn't register and I have to go to the "Where's My Cash Back" page and put in all the info.
But it's free money, so I hate to complain.....Developer response
posted 7 months agoThank you for making us a part of your shopping experiences! We love helping our Members earn something back on the things they are planning on buying. Sometimes merchants just don't report or confirm orders with us as eligible for Cash Back. Every one of our partnered merchants has its own Cash Back Terms that may exclude certain items, departments, or other things from earning Cash Back. Our team will always be here 24 hours a day/7 days a week over email if you ever need help in the future! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18413129, 7 months ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Henry, 9 months agoPlease for the love of god make it easier to disable cashback notifications for certain sites. I use outlook and everytime I go to log in it blocks the corner where my profile is with the cashback notification. Also, add the ability to disable the blinking on cashback sites. Its extremely distracting, and I have now moved the extension off the main bar on my browser. I really like Rakuten, but this extension needs some basic features so I'm not driven to rage deleting it.

posted 9 months agoWe appreciate this feedback. If you click on the icon for the extension (the "R") and pull up the menu, you should see an option for "Settings". From there, you should see an option listed as "Turn off Cash Back activation reminders for these sites". The "these sites" part of that sentence is a clickable link that will open up a box where you can (line by line) add URLs to websites where you do not want our extension popping up. Once you save that list, you should not encounter the pop up appearing on those pages. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16155080, 9 months ago

posted 10 months agoThank you for that feedback and the kind words! We love being your trusty sidekick helping you rack it up with Rakuten!- Rated 2 out of 5by Macrus, a year agoWhen it works correctly it's fine. However it has two very annoying features, both of which could be solved by just giving us the option for which kind of notifications to allow.
1. When I'm shopping on a site that does not have cash back through rakuten, it gives a popup saying that. I don't want negative advertising against a site that I'm already shopping at. I'm never going to choose Rakuten over Chewy or REI. Those notifications just come across as petty and dumb.
2. EVERY TIME I get a notification that the same item is cheaper on another site, the item it takes me to is not actually the same. Just wildly different items that it seems to think are the same thing, so naturally the prices are going to be different.Developer response
posted a year agoThank you so much for this feedback. We pop up reminders on websites like Chewy and others that don't currently partner with us to suggest similar merchants that currently offer Cash Back. For the item suggestion feature, the data provided to us by the stores can occasionally get out of sync. We rely on our partnered merchants to provide the most current pricing and product information for the item suggestion feature of our Cash Back Button extension. We'll work to improve both of these features in future updates and releases to our Cash Back Button extension. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15913024, a year ago
