- Rated 5 out of 5by monotaskr, 4 years agoI've used it 5 minutes and already a significant lifestyle improvement! I used it to kill Eva on aliexpress!! That nightmare almost had me headed for anger management classes, and I'm as calm as a buddhist monk, for example, in 15 years of marriage never raised my voice to yell at my wife, and had at least the average amount of reasons to do so, but for some reason this AI bot just lit the fire of rage and then ginned it up! [taking that deep pranayama breath......] My sincere thanks to you Luke, I truly appreciate it! Sometimes a simple idea can be both elegant and powerful. This is the epitome of both.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Red, 4 years agoThis is a handy blocker, but it could definitely benefit from a console to paste in elements from a page that aren't as easily clicked on.
Developer response
posted 4 years agoNoted! Thanks for the feedback.
EDIT (22 August 2022): I just fixed an issue where some elements couldn't be clicked because clicking them would activate the link/button/etc. instead of blocking it. - Rated 2 out of 5by azu, 5 years agoPretty useless - can block an element, but only one one page, not a domain - effectively making an ENORMOUS amount of busy work for the user due to sheer developer oversight.

Hello - blocking an element definitely does work for the whole domain, not just one page as you've said. There is no developer oversight in this regard.
The website you're trying to block elements on probably randomly generates new IDs/class names on every page (some websites REALLY try to prevent ad blocking), making blocking much more difficult. - Rated 4 out of 5by Ján Koštial, 5 years agoThis is working quite fine, but on complex web pages (like Aliexpress) sometimes it is blocking other elements than I selected.
- Rated 5 out of 5by t_wheeler, 5 years agoI grabbed this plugin specifically to block Reddit's highly annoying constant reminder to add my email address, but expect to be using it more. I use uMatrix (which I highly recommend) for blocking unwanted content, and this seems like it will be a good addition to let me block specific elements.
Two feature requests I'd like to see: (1) support viewing and manually updating blocked elements; and (2) support finding an element(s) via an Xpath expression.
Thanks for making this!Developer response
posted 5 years agoThanks for the detailed feedback! I'm glad it's been helpful :) And thanks for the feature requests – I'll definitely be adding the ability to see a list of blocked elements and the ability to edit/remove one at a time.
EDIT: I just added a feature to show all blocked elements/CSS selector rules. I also added the ability to delete any specific rule. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15920759, 5 years agoThis works pretty well, especially for annoying things like the recommended channels in twitch which twitch will not allow you to remove through normal means*. Is there any chance we can have a more aggressive advanced function that searches the dom for a particular class name, attribute, or id and add it to a loop that has a user settable loop duration which can outright delete a node and all it's children?

- Rated 5 out of 5by zemmy, 5 years agoIt works now after the re-upload tnx a lot, great Addon one of a kind, the only 2 things that would make it better would be a special undo button in case you make a mistake and don't want to redo the whole site just that 1 recent and a list that displays every site that you used it on.

posted 5 years agoNice! I’m glad the re-upload worked. Thanks for the additional suggestions! An “undo” button is becoming a popular request, so maybe I’ll tackle that next.
EDIT: I just added a feature to show all blocked elements that also lets you remove any specific items, which makes fixing mistakes much easier. - Rated 5 out of 5by qwords, 5 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Robert9157, 5 years agoSometimes clicking on ads to hide them makes me go to the ad page. A bit of annyoing.

posted 5 years agoI know :/ I'm working to fix this. Some websites and ads make it very difficult.
EDIT (22 August 2022): I just fixed this in version 1.9! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15638567, 5 years agoI get rid of "This version of YouTube is going away soon. Switch to the new YouTube" message, thanks!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Wolf, 5 years agoNice and useful add-on. Just a suggestion: please add a feature to backup and restore the overall list of blocked elements
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13352012, 5 years agoIt would be nice if you could see a list of the elements blocked, and choose which one to delete, or to remove the last one you created, but i like the Add-On.
Thank you.Developer response
posted 5 years agoThanks for the feedback! This is definitely something I'm considering. Many people want it.
EDIT: I just added a feature to show all blocked elements that also lets you remove any specific items, which makes fixing mistakes much easier. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15556945, 5 years agoi like this extension it does block the section of a web page that i wanna good job to the developer

Thanks again to the developer for implementing a new keyboard shortcut to trigger element blocking. If possible, I'd like to request another important feature. I'd like to be able to undo the previous block operation in order to restore page elements unintentionally zapped by said operation. Currently I see no way to do this other than unblocking ALL blocked items for the site and starting over, which is very tedious. An alternative remedy to an "undo" option might be to highlight blockable elements on mouseover to isolate precisely what content will be effected, thus mitigating the need for an undo option (though it would still not address accidental clicks).
--END OF SECOND NEW FEATURE REQUEST--
A very lightweight, sleek and swift content blocker, but like so many others there is no keyboard shortcut option to invoke the function. An ideal element blocker should require no more than one keystroke and one mouse click, but I have yet to encounter one. Best advantage this addon has over similar offerings is that this one remembers blocked items.
UPDATE: Great thanks to the developer for adding the keyboard shortcut option after only two days of leaving the review! This addon is now officially the least cumbersome and slickest element blocker there is for Firefox, and I've tried every one of them.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHey, thanks for the nice review :) Because of your comment I've just added a keyboard shortcut to initiate element-blocking mode. It's Ctrl+B by default, but you should be able to reconfigure it to any keyboard combo you like within your Firefox settings.
EDIT: I just added a feature to show all blocked elements that also lets you remove any specific items, which makes fixing mistakes much easier.
