About this extension
Keep the emotes. Quiet the words.
EmoteOnly filters Twitch live chat so you can enjoy the reactions without reading every message.
Click the toolbar face for four simple switches: EmoteOnly, Usernames, Badges and Timestamps. Changes apply immediately to every open Twitch tab and are saved locally. Switch EmoteOnly off to restore the original chat.
Messages with emotes keep their rendered emotes and your chosen metadata. Text-only messages disappear completely, including their usernames and badges. Ordinary message text, reply labels and subscription notice headers stay hidden.
Subscriber, moderator, VIP, custom and translated badge icons are supported. Timestamps must first be enabled in Twitch or your chat provider. EmoteOnly displays existing message times.
Supports native Twitch, 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ renderers, including animated, wide and zero-width emotes. Install providers separately to render their emotes. Plain Unicode emoji and unresolved emote codes remain hidden. Live channel, popout, theatre and native pinned-message cards are supported. Renderer changes may require an update.
EmoteOnly stores four display preferences locally. It collects no chat content, browsing history or analytics, and its JavaScript makes no network requests. Twitch and your other emote extensions load their own resources.
