About this extension
A WebExtension for Invidious, written in TypeScript using Deno.
Modules
Each module can be toggled and configured individually.
Watched
- Keeps track of videos you've watched and highlights them using a user-defined CSS filter
- Video IDs are stored in your browser's local storage
Hide Videos
- Set a minimum duration for videos to be shown
- Set a regular expression to filter out videos with unwanted titles
DeArrow
- Reliably retrieves clickbait-free thumbnails and titles from DeArrow.
- Opt-in to show untrusted titles.
- Option to hide thumbnails until replacements are fetched.
- Option to highlight replaced titles
Additional Links
- Display prefilled cobalt.tools download link in sidebar
Why access to all sites?
With Invidious instances being community-hosted, it's not feasible to manually add instances to the list of allowed sites and remain up-to-date. Instead, Extraneous runs on all pages, checking if they are an Invidious page. Unless a site is trying to look like an Invidious instance to the add-on, Extraneous code should not run on unrelated sites beyond this check.
